BirchwoodBest is not only aware of the Green Movement, we embrace it! We manufacture all commercially available veneer species and core constructions with no-added urea-formaldehyde adhesives upon demand. All of our no-added formaldehyde Hardwood plywood products are manufactured with the BirchwoodBest quality standards we have staked our reputation on and pass all Phase 1 and 2 CARB (California Air Resources Board) requirements, allowing you to gain LEED points for your project.
 BirchwoodBest is FSC Certified and can supply any product we manufacture with FSC components, when available, upon demand. This material not only helps you be a part of the Green Movement and helps you Go Green, but it's also the right thing to do! FSC Certified Hardwood Plywood from BirchwoodBest embodies environmental and quality performance all in one.
What we do in our Plants and Communities
Wood Waste
BirchwoodBest reuses our wood waste by incinerating it and converting that heat energy to steam. That steam then operates our presses. We do not use electricity off the grid for pressing your plywood!
Manufacturing Waste
As a Lean Manufacturer, the primary goal is to remove waste from the process, whether it be wasted steps, energy, processes, touches, materials, etc. We not only practice Lean in our plants, be we also do so in our offices.
Recycling
Our facilities have a complete recycling program for all recyclable materials (paper, aluminum, cardboard, plastics, metal, etc.)
Car Pooling
Our employees are actually incented to car pool as part of our BirchwoodBest intracompany competition (See BBL page). Removing waste and eliminating inefficiencies has become a fundamental part of our culture, both personally and professionally.
